Jammu and Kashmir: Army Busts Terrorist Hideout in Poonch Forest

Police and army have recovered weapons from an old hideout in the forest in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. Police and army conducted a joint search operation on Thursday in the Kunayian forest of Poonch district. A contingent of 39 Romeo Force was also involved with the Poonch Police in this search operation.

On this, Poonch SSP Ramesh Angarl said that the SOG team led by Poonch Deputy SP Manish Sharma and Army National Rifle Jawans conducted a search operation on Thursday in the Kunayian forest of Poonch where they found an old hideout. During this time they received one AK 74 rifle, a magazine, a Chinese pistol and a pistol magazine. The SSP said that the police has started an investigation in this regard by registering an FIR in Poonch police station in different sections.

Before the Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested three OGW (Over Ground Workers) who helped the terrorist organization Hizbul Mujahideen. According to the police, they were involved in assisting the active militants of Hizbul, a terrorist organization operating in the areas of Anantnag. According to the investigation, the three arrested suspects were working to provide logistics and provide shelter to the active Hizbul militants.
