Punjab Kings (PBKS) beat Rajasthan Royals (RR) by five runs in the Indian Premier League (IPL) clash in Guwahati on Wednesday. Nathan Ellis who took four wickets of RR, was declared Player of the Match.

RR won the toss and elected to bowl. PBKS, batting first, scored 197/4 in stipulated 20 overs. Leading the side from front, Dhawan scored an unbeaten 86 runs off 56 balls with 9 boundaries and 3 sixers. Prabhsimran Singh provided Punjab with an explosive start alongside Dhawan as the pair added 90 runs for the opening wicket. Prabhsimran was dismissed for 64 in 34 balls with 7 fours and 3 sixers, following which Dhawan added another 50-plus partnership with Jitesh Sharma who scored 27 off 16 with 2 fours and one six.
Chasing the victory target of 198 runs Rajasthan could score 192 for 7 wickets in 2o overs. R Ashwin opened the inning with Yashasvi Jaiswal, however, the experiment failed. Rajasthan lost three wickets of Yashasvi, Ashwin and Jos Buttler in powerplay on 57 runs. Sanju Samson steadied the ship. Nathan Ellis scalped four wickets while Arshdeep Singh took two wickets of RR.
