Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar annoyed by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray’s approval to investigate the Bhima-Koregaon case in Maharashtra by the NIA, Sharad Pawar has now decided to conduct a SIT investigation into the matter by Maharashtra government. The National Investigation Agency will investigate the Bhima Koregaon violence from the Center and the state government will conduct an SIT investigation. In the presence of Sharad Pawar a decision was taken to conduct an SIT inquiry in the meeting of NCP leaders held on Monday.
Last month, the Maharashtra government had opposed the handing over of the Bhima Koregaon violence investigation to the National Investigation Agency. But later it was approved by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar took a meeting of all NCP leaders on Monday. In this meeting, it was decided that the SIT investigation will be done by the state government in Bhima Koregaon case. This meeting of NCP leaders was held in Mumbai’s Y.B. Chavan Auditorium.
The Bhima Koregaon case was discussed in the NCP meeting. After this it was decided that the state government would conduct a SIT investigation in Bhima Koregaon case. Last month, NCP chief Sharad Pawar wrote a letter to the Chief Minister demanding an inquiry into the officers involved in Bhima Koregaon. But later the Chief Minister gave this inquiry to NIA. Sharad Pawar seems angry with this decision of CM. Now it was decided to set up an SIT to investigate the officers involved in this case.
