In a sharp reaction to a remark from Shiv Sena President and Former CM of Maharashtra Uddhav Thackeray about educational qualification of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, NCP, ally of Shiv Sena, leader Ajit Pawar said inflation and unemployment are more important issues than PM Modi’s degree in country. He added that law and order situation is also a matter to be addressed.

Mr. Pawar said he listens daily about dispute regarding degree of PM Modi. But it is improper to question the validity of his academic degree.
Speaking to reporters in Mumbai on Monday, Mr. Pawar said it was ridiculous to question the validity of the academic degrees of someone who has been helming the country for nearly nine years. Maharashtra leader of Opposition and senior NCP leader Ajit Pawar said that the people of India did not vote for Mr. Modi on the basis of his degree but for his charisma.
Remarking that the vital questions of the day were ratcheting price rise and unemployment, Mr. Pawar further said there was no need to give such issues any importance. I think routine issues are important and it is necessary for us to address these issues.
Mr. Pawar’s remark was a sharp rebuke to his ally — the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray), which demanded that PM Modi ought to come forward and inform the public about his academic qualifications.
