The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has informed that 9,985 fresh cases of novel coronavirus were reported from the country in the last 24 hours ending Wednesday morning. The addition of the fresh cases has pushed the country’s COVID-19 case tally to 2.76 lakh.
This apart, the ministry informed that over 270 fresh deaths were reported in the country during this period that has taken the COVID-19 related death toll to 7,745.
As per the data made available by the ministry, the total COVID-19 count in India includes 1,33,632 active cases, while 1,35,205 people have recovered. The recovery rate has increased to 48.9 per cent. The total number of confirmed cases includes foreigners.
A state-wise tally of coronavirus cases suggests that the highest number of confirmed cases in India are from Maharashtra at 90,787 followed by Tamil Nadu at 34,914, Delhi at 31,309, Gujarat at 21,014, Uttar Pradesh at 11,335, Rajasthan at 11,245 and Madhya Pradesh at 9,849.

On Tuesday, the death toll due to COVID-19 rose to 7,466 and the number of cases climbed to 2,66,598 after it registered 266 fatalities and a record single-day spike of 9,987 cases.
