India records 10,753 new Covid cases, 27 deaths, active cases stood at 53,720

India is witnessing a sudden surge in the daily number of new Covid-19 cases last few days. The number of daily Covid-19 cases in India has slightly declined in last 24 hours.10,753 new cases and 27 deaths, due to the virus, have been recorded in the country. While the number of active cases in the country has gone up to 53,720, as per the data updated on Saturday by the Union Health Ministry.

Six deaths were recorded in Delhi, followed by four in Maharashtra, three in Rajasthan and one each in Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh. The figure also includes six deaths reconciled by Kerala, the data updated at 8 am stated

Maharashtra reports 1,152 new cases, 4 deaths

Maharashtra has reported 1,152 new cases along with four deaths in last 24 hours. Active cases stand at 5,928. Mumbai reported 284 Covid-19 cases and one death, which took the tally in the state to 11,60,103 and the toll to 19,753, a civic official said. The addition to the tally was a rise from the 274 cases detected on Thursday, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation official pointed out.

Rajasthan records 397 new cases, 3 more deaths

Rajasthan reported 397 new cases and three more deaths, officials said. The deaths were reported from Churu, Hanuman Garh and Jaipur. Number of active Covid cases rose to 1,764 in the state, the health department said. Since January, 21 people have died in the state due to coronavirus.

Gujarat logs 392 new cases, 1 death

Gujarat recorded 392 new cases of Covid-19 and one death on Friday. While 258 patients have recovered from the infection. Gir Somnath reported one death due to virus. Ahmedabad, was at the top in the tally with 145 cases, whereas Baroda 58, Surat 37, Mehsana 35, Rajkot 22, and Gandhinagar recorded 16 new cases. Currently, there are total 2220 active cases in the state, out of which 3 patients are being treated on ventilator.

The number of people who have recuperated from the disease rose to 4.42 crore (4,42,23,211) while the case fatality rate was recorded at 1.19. According to the ministry’s website, 220.66 crore vaccine doses have been administered under the nationwide Covid-19 vaccination drive so far.

The daily positivity rate was recorded at 6.78 while the weekly positivity rate was pegged at 4.49. The total tally of Covid cases is at 4.48 crore (4,48,08,022).
