Mumbai: India chasing the moderate target of 189 runs for victory in first one-day international cricket match against Australia being played at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, were 81 for 4 wickets in 18 overs. India did not start well, losing Ishan Kishan while the score was only 5 runs. Then Starck strike and took two quick wickets at the score of only 16 runs in 5 overs. He got wickets of Kohli (4) and Surya kumar yadav (0) in two successive balls. Gill (20) tried to build up the game but he was caught out by Labuschagne in the bowling of Starck at the total score of 39 runs. K L Rahul (25) and Hardik Pandya (24) took the score of India to 81 for 4 wickets i 18 overs. India still requires 108 runs to win the first ODI.

Earlier India won the toss and opted to field. Indian bowlers succeeded to bundle out Australia for 188 runs with 14.2 overs to spare. Siraj struck early to remove Travis Head. Then Mitchell Marsh and Steve Smith joined hands and the duo scored a half-ton partnership. The skipper fell to Hardik but that didn’t stop Marsh from registering his 14th ODI fifty. He upped the ante after his half-century and put the Indians under immense pressure. Ravindra Jadeja provided the crucial breakthrough by dismissing Marsh for 81 and then took a screamer to send Labuschagne packing.
Mohammad Shami and Mohammad Siraj both took 3 – 3 wickets of Australia giving a serious blow to Ausi’s strong batting lineup. Ravindra Jadeja took 2 while Hardik Pandya and Kuldeep Yadav each took 1-1 wicket of Australia.
