76th Independence Day of India: PM Modi unfurls Tricolour at Red Fort

New Delhi: Celebrations marked the 76th Independence Day of India on Monday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi unfurled the Tricolour at the Red Fort in the morning.

In his address, he talked about the journey of the country in past 75 years, including the challenges faced. “But unity in diveristy was our guiding power,” he said.

He called upon Indians to help him fight against corruption as well as dynasty politics.

Tricolour balloons were released at the end of his address.

““To India, our much-loved motherland, the ancient, the eternal and the ever-new, we pay our reverent homage and we bind ourselves afresh to her service. Happy Independence Day! Jai Hind,” tweeted Congress MP Rahul Gandhi.

On Sunday, President Droupadi Murmu gave her first Independence Day address.
