Besides, PM Modi said, ” I was pleased to know that all of you have also celebrated the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence with great pomp. Our cricketing relationship has completed 75 years. The more interesting the competition on the cricket field, the deeper is our off-field friendship. When great cricketer Shane Warne passed away last year, millions of Indians mourned along with Australia. It was like we had lost someone ours. All of you have had a dream that our India should also become a developed nation, the dream that is in your heart is also in my heart.”
Addressing the event, PM Modi further said that India does not lack capability. India also has no dearth of resources. Today the world’s biggest and youngest talent factory is in India. PM Modi added,” Today I have come among you, so I am also going to make an announcement. The long-standing demand of the Indian community in Brisbane will now be fulfilled. Soon a new Consulate of India will be opened in Brisbane. There was a time when it was said that the relationship between India and Australia is based on 3C (Commonwealth, Cricket, Curry). After that it was said that the relation between India and Australia is based on 3D (Democracy, Diaspora, Friendship). Some people also said that the relation between India and Australia is based on 3E (Energy, Economy, Education). This may have been true in different times as well. But the extent of historical relations between India and Australia is much bigger than this. The basis of these relations is mutual trust and mutual respect.
