Islamabad: Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has given a deadline to the government to announce fresh elections within next six days, failing which he will take out another march to Islamabad.
The former cricketer-turned-politician took out a rally early on Thursday morning with hundreds of supporters in tow.
He had given a call for a march to Islamabad to rally outside the Parliament to demand for election dates.
On Wednesday, the Pakistan Supreme Court had allowed Imran Khan’s rally at designated spots with the condition that the crowd would disperse after Khan’s address.
Following the former PM’s announcement of the rally, the government move a petition in the court seeking contempt of court proceedings against him
The government argued that Imran Khan had misled the court by taking permission for one place, but holding the rally at another.
