Gandhinagar: Since the release of The Kerala Story just before the Karnataka assembly elections, the political rhetoric about conversion has been intensified in the country. Amid the ban and boycott trend, The Kerala Story is doing well at the box office. People are divided into two groups regarding a very low budget film. Some demand a ban and some support the film. Meanwhile, Home Minister of Gujarat has come out with an important statement on the matter of Love Jihad.
Harsh Sanghvi, Home Minister of Gujarat, gave an important statement in Morbi saying that it is not a crime to love in any corner of the world and on the soil of Gujarat. But cheating in the name of love is a crime. Strict action will be taken against those who do so.
Harsh Sanghvi had reached Morbi to attend a program. He said in his address about love marriages that happen by love Jihad and mentioning wrong religion. Harsh Sanghvi said if someone Salim, introduces himself as Suresh and traps someone’s daughter by falling in love with her, then he will not be spared. He further said that if someone is Suresh and he traps by giving his introduction as Salim, that is also wrong.
For the last few days, there is a lot of discussion about the Love Jihad in view of the film Kerala Story. On that point, Harsh Sanghvi said that any member of the family reaches to any police station with such application, then it will be taken very seriously.
