In a fresh twist to the infamous Gaurav Dahiya-Leenu Singh saga, the Gujarat-cadre IAS officer, who is under suspension for ‘misconduct’ and ‘moral turpitude’, has filed an FIR against Leenu with Delhi Police for allegedly threatening him, extortion, and defamation. Notably, Leenu had claimed that she had married Dahiya and given birth to his child, whereas the bureaucrat has refuted the same.
In the FIR registered by Dahiya in Delhi’s Malviya Nagar police station, Leenu has been charged under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code including section-189 (threat to public servant), section-384 (extortion), section-389 (leveling false accusations for extortion), and section-499 (defamation).
Dahiya has also leveled allegations against one Kuldeep Dinkar, who is allegedly married to Leenu, and claimed that the woman has sought financial assistance from him on the ground that she was facing financial hardships. Gaurav Dahiya has claimed that Leenu’s demands went on increasing day by day.
The bureaucrat has cited a WhatsApp message where Leenu allegedly tried to extort money from him. As per the chat, Leenu had demanded a flat in Delhi, a house in Ahmedabad, and Rs 20 crore for staying away from his life. The message, cited in the FIR, also provides that if her demands are met, she will marry someone else.
Gaurav Dahiya has also claimed in the FIR that Leenu kept on threatening him that she will commit suicide and falsely implicate him. The bureaucrat, while terming the woman “dubious” and of “questionable character”, has also questioned Leenu’s credentials. He has also blamed Leenu and her husband for running a vicious campaign against him on social and mainstream media.
Gaurav Dahiya in the FIR has demanded that Leenu, her husband, and their criminal associates must be booked under appropriate sections of the Indian Penal Code for suppressing marriage and then coming up with a forged talaqnama. He has said that the woman, her husband, and their criminal associates are still harassing him.
Notably, Leenu, who has blamed Dahiya for bigamy, cheating, criminal intimidation, and breach of trust, had earlier told Gujarat Exclusive that she will try to meet Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani in Gandhinagar demanding a fair probe by Gujarat Police and a paternity test to prove her claim. “I do not want authorities to support me just because I am a woman. I want that a fair probe is conducted in the case and a paternity test is done that would clear things,” she had said.
