Suspense about who will become next Chief Minister of Karnataka is still intact. One of the two contenders, Siddaramaiah is already in Delhi. The Other contender Karnataka Congress president DK Shivakumar for the CM post will be in Delhi in a short while. D K Shivakumar has left for Delhi on Tuesday, ahead of an expected announcement by the party. Before taking a flight to Delhi, Shivakumar told reporters that he was asked by the Congress general secretary to visit the national capital alone.

Talking to ANI before leaving for Delhi, On being asked about the chief ministerial post, the Karnataka Congress leader Shivakumar said,” Ours is a united house, our number is 135. I don’t want to divide anyone here. Whether they like me or not, I am a responsible man. I will not backstab and I will not blackmail. Sonia Gandhi is our role model…Congress is family for everyone. Our constitution is very much important, so we have to protect everyone’s interest.” D K Shivakumar added, “We have built this party (Congress), we have built this house. I am a part of it…A mother will give everything to her child.”

Talking about the next challenge before Congress, KPCC chief DK Shivakumar said,” Winning 20 seats (in Lok Sabha polls) is our next challenge. I will not backstab and I will not blackmail. I don’t want to go to the wrong history, I don’t want to go with a bad remark”
Meanwhile, Congress leader Siddaramaiah the other contender for the post of Karnataka chief minister, had arrived in the national capital on Monday.
The Congress scored an impressive victory in the Karnataka assembly election with 135 seats. The results were declared on May 13.
