Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to inform Indians how he proposes to drive Chinese troops out of Ladakh. “The whole country knows that China has snatched India’s land. We all know the Chinese are at four places in Ladakh. Please tell the country how you will evict the Chinese troops and when?” he asked in a video address. This came immediately before Modi’s address to the nation.
The Congress has been the only party that has been attacking the Prime Minister over inconsistencies on the government’s stand on Chinese troops in Indian territory. The other Opposition parties have either agreed to back Modi or have decided not to question the ruling BJP stating that this is not the time to ‘indulge in politics’.
Congress had earlier asked Modi to publicly condemn China’s brazen act in Ladakh and have time and again pointed out to the PM’s reluctance in naming the country in any of his address.
India and China have been involved in a face off where earlier 20 Indian soldiers were killed in a clash with Chinese troops on the night of June 15.
