Heavy rains lash Ahmedabad on Monday night; highest in Bopal, Odhav

Ahmedabad: The city witnessed heavy rainfall, accompanied by lightning and thunder, late on Monday night. Ahmedabad received an average rainfall of 1 inch in last 24 hours.

Weather in the district is likely to remain rainy, with light to moderate rain over the next five days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted.

According to figures released by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, Bopal and Odhav areas in the city received the maximum, 2.5 inch, rain.

Other areas that received rain include Vejalpur, Makarba, Satellite, SG Highway, Bodakdev, Thaltej, Ghatlodia, Chandlodia, Chandkheda, Gota, Bapunagar, Saraspur, Maninagar, Vastral, etc.

The city has received 24.21 inch rainfall so far.

According to IMD, light to moderate rainfall is expected over the entire state, while isolated places in Banaskantha, Patan, Mehsana, Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Panchmahals, Dahod, Mahisagar, Vadodara, Kheda, Gandhinagar, Anand and Chhota Udepur are likely to get heavy rain over next two days.
