In his excitement, former PAAS leader and now Congress member Hardik Patel tweeted about the Gujarat Congress coming back to power. But a factual error in it had the young leader being made fun of. The BJP also jumped on the bandwagon to make fun of Patel. He later deleted the tweet. Patel in a tweet had said that Congress will come back to power in 2022 with 1/3rd majority. A party needs 2/3 rd majority in the assembly.
Patel soon realised his mistake and deleted the tweet he then said the Congress will come back to power with 2/3rd majority in the state. Patel who joined the Congress in 2019, ahead of the Lok Sabha elections in Gujarat, was appointed the new working president of the Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) on Saturday. Gujarat is all set for bypolls in eight assembly seats. All the seats were vacated by Congress MLAs who quit the party ahead of the Rajya Sabha elections. Patel is the youngest leader in the party in Gujarat to hold this position.
