Hardik Patel, supporters visit Somnath, social distancing disappears


Social distancing reportedly went for a toss at Somnath Temple as Congress leader Hardik Patel visited the temple on Monday.

Patel was accompanied by Congress workers. It was Hardik Patel’s birthday today and he had decided to visit the temple on the occasion.

Local media reports said that no social distancing was maintained as several of his supporters entered the premises and with mobiles and cameras.

It should be noted that devotees are not allowed to carry a camera or phones inside the temple premises.

Media reports said several workers were also busy getting selfies with Hardik Patel.

Speaking to local workers at a meeting in Somnath he said in the next six months, the Nagarpalika should be with the Congress and the condition of the roads in Veraval should be better.

It should be noted that municipal and local body elections are due in Gujarat soon. Media reports said in the meet too social distancing norms were not maintained.

Patel will also be visiting Dwarka later in the day and will also hold a meeting with the workers and Congress leaders near Jamnagar.
