A hacker hacked into an online fitness class for children on Zoom and subjected the 60 kids taking part in it to footages of child sexual abuse. The class was hosted by a sports club in Plymouth, Devon in the United Kingdom.
Cops believe the hacker gained access to the virtual class after the details of the event were published in an online forum. Cops in the UK have advised people using video conferencing to ensure that only the host can share material and an unauthorised person cannot get access to it.
Similar incidents of meeting on zooms being bombarded with child sexual abuse images have been reported across the UK. Earlier a wine-tasting event in Manchester was similarly bombed by hackers.
Zoom has seen a surge in users since the lockdown began across the globe to fight the Covid19 pandemic. It has also come under severe criticism for its poor security features.
