Gujarat has reported 1,302 fresh cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours ending 5 pm on Sunday. The addition of the fresh cases has taken Gujarat’s total tally to 1,42,700.
3,499 COVID-19 related deaths in Gujarat
Nine deaths were reported in the state in the past 24 hours. The fresh fatalities have taken Gujarat’s COVID-19 related death toll to 3,499. While four deaths have been reported from Surat, three deaths have been reported from Ahmedabad. The districts of Rajkot and Vadodara have reported one death each.
283 fresh cases in Surat, 191 in Ahmedabad
Of the 1,302 fresh cases reported on Sunday, 283 cases have been reported from Surat, 191 cases have been reported from Ahmedabad, 133 cases have been reported from Vadodara, and 60 cases have been reported from the state capital Gandhinagar.
This apart, Rajkot has reported 152 cases, Bhavnagar has reported 31 cases, Mehsana 53 cases, and Jamnagar 92 cases.
Meanwhile, Junagarh has reported 33 fresh cases of the virus, whereas the tribal district of Panchamahals has reported 18 fresh cases. Dahod has reported 10 cases, Amreli 27 cases and Kheda 12 cases.
Similarly, Bharuch has reported 22 cases, Valsad has reported two cases, Anand eight cases, and Patan 22 cases.
With the addition of the fresh cases, the total COVID-19 case tally in Ahmedabad has increased to 37,624. The total tally has reached 30,295 in Surat, 12,610 in Vadodara, and 3,833 in Gandhinagar.
Ahmedabad’s COVID-19 death toll climbs to 1,826
Similarly, the addition of the three fatalities reported in the past 24 hours has taken the death toll due to COVID-19 in Ahmedabad to 1,826. The death toll has increased to 784 in Surat, whereas it remains 191 for Vadodara and 78 for Gandhinagar.
1.22 lakh COVID-19 patients discharged so far
According to the health department, there are 16,836 active cases of the virus in Gujarat. Of this, 87 patients are critical and have been put on ventilator support. So far, 1.22 lakh patients have been discharged in the state after being treated for the viral infection. In fact, 1,246 patients were discharged in the past 24 hours.
