Gandhinagar: Preparations for the swearing-in ceremony of the new Cabinet of Gujarat government have started. According to a tweet by the CMO on Wednesday afternoon, the swearing-in ceremony of the new Gujarat Cabinet will be held at 1.30 pm on Thursday at Raj Bhavan, instead of Wednesday as speculated earlier.
According to reports, the party will not repeat any minister this time.
Thus, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel’s Cabinet will have all new faces. Also, younger MLAs are likely to be inducted in the Cabinet.
State BJP president CR Paatil has been holding meetings back-to-back at his residence ahead of the swearing in.
There is a buzz that the implementation of the ‘no repeat’ theory’ was the reason for the delay in the ceremony.
The speculation about Bhupendra Patel’s Cabinet having new faces had been around since the time he took oath. That the oath-taking ceremony was reportedly to be held on Wednesday at Raj Bhavan too had not been officially declared; but the board at the venue mentioned the date as September 15.
Subsequently, speculations began about the probable timing of the ceremony. It was also circulated that the new Cabinet would follow the ‘no repeat’ theory.
Other talks that were doing rounds were that of the high command in Delhi being approached to pacify unhappy senior leaders here, because of which the event had to be postponed. It is believed that senior ministers, including Nitin Patel, are miffed at the recent developments.
