Gujarat: Surat gets 2-inch rain in 2 hours


Gandhinagar: Parts of Gujarat received rain on Saturday. Umerpada taluka in Surat received 51 mm (2 inches) of rain in 2 hours between noon and 2 pm.

Kukarmunda taluka in Tapi district received 37 mm rain in 4 hours between 10 am and 2 pm.

Dediapada in Narmada received 30 mm and Naswadi in Chhota Udepur 10 mm in 2 hour starting 12 noon. Sagbara in Narmada and Ahmedabad city received 5 mm each during this period, according to the state emergency operation centre, Gandhinagar.


Heavy rain in eastern part of Ahmedabad city

An AMTS bus got stuck in the water-logged Mithakhali underpass on Saturday. All passengers were said to be safe. Heavy rain was witnessed in Khokhra, Vastral Hatkeshwar, Amraiwadi and other places in the eastern part of the city. Waterlogging and traffic jam were seen at several places. Rain was reported in the western part as well, including in areas like Paldi, Helmet Circle, Ranip, Bopal, Ghatlodia, etc.
