Gandhinagar: With the Covid-19 situation in Gujarat remaining under control, the state government has decided to allow schools to resume offline teaching for grades 6 to 8.
The announcement was made by the state education minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama.
Gujarat schools will now be able to allow students of classes 6, 7 and 8 on campus from September 2.
Schools will be required to follow all Covid-related SOPs announced by the state and central governments.
Social distancing and use of masks and sanitizers will be mandatory for all students, teachers as well as non-teaching staff of the school
Parents’ consent will be mandatory.
Offline teaching for students of classes 9-11 in Gujarat schools had already been resumed on July 26.
The state has been reporting less than 25 new cases each day for past several days. The active caseload of Covid-19 is less than 200.
