Gujarat reports 25 COVID-19 cases, no death


Gujarat has reported 25 fresh cases of COVID-19 on Saturday. The addition of the fresh cases has taken Gujarat’s total tally past 8.25 lakh. No death was reported in the state in the past 24 hours. The state’s death toll due to COVID currently stands at 10,078.

Over 6.18 lakh people were administered vaccines on Saturday until 5 pm. Of it, over 3.89 are people in the 18-44 age group who took their first dose.

According to the data compiled by the Union health ministry, 3.92 crore doses of the vaccines have been administered in Gujarat until Friday. It includes 2.97 crore first doses and 95.24 lakh second doses.

7 fresh cases in Ahmedabad, 3 in Surat

Of the 25 fresh cases reported on Saturday, seven cases were reported from Ahmedabad, three cases were reported from Surat, four cases were reported from Vadodara, four cases from Rajkot and one case was reported from Jamnagar.

Three cases were reported from Kheda. This apart, one case was reported each from Junagarh, Dahod, Gir Somnath, Anand and Navsari.

With the addition of the fresh cases, the total COVID-19 case tally in Ahmedabad has increased to 2.38 lakh The total tally has reached 1.43 lakh in Surat, 78,602 in Vadodara, and 20,506 in Gandhinagar.

8.14 lakh COVID-19 patients discharged so far

According to the health department, there are over 185 active cases of the virus in Gujarat. Of this, seven patients are critical and have been put on ventilator support. So far, 8.14 lakh patients have been discharged in the state after being treated for the viral infection. In fact, 18 patients were discharged in the past 24 hours.
