Gujarat has reported 1,101 fresh cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours ending 5 pm on Sunday. The addition of the fresh cases has taken Gujarat’s total tally to 63,675.
2,487 COVID-19 related deaths in Gujarat
Twenty-two deaths were reported in the state in the past 24 hours. The fresh fatalities have taken Gujarat’s COVID-19 related death toll to 2,487.
While 12 deaths have been reported from Surat, Ahmedabad, Bhavnagar and Vadodara have reported two deaths each. The districts of Gandhinagar, Devbhoomi Dwarka, Patan and Rajkot have reported one death each.
237 fresh cases in Surat, 155 in Ahmedabad
Of the 1,101 fresh cases reported on Sunday, 237 cases have been reported from Surat and 155 cases have been reported from Ahmedabad. Similarly, 96 cases have been reported from Vadodara, and 29 cases have been reported from the state capital Gandhinagar.
This apart, Rajkot has reported 94 cases, Bhavnagar has reported 72 cases, Mehsana 43 cases, and Jamnagar 52 cases.
Meanwhile, Junagarh has reported 40 fresh cases of the virus, whereas the tribal district of Panchamahals has reported 27 fresh cases. Dahod, Amreli and Kheda have each reported 17 fresh cases of COVID-19.
Similarly, the three districts of Bharuch, Anand, and Kutch have reported 16 cases each.
With the addition of the fresh cases, the total COVID-19 case tally in Ahmedabad has increased to 26,818. The total tally has reached 13,568 in Surat, 4,843 in Vadodara, and 1,531 in Gandhinagar.
Ahmedabad’s COVID-19 death toll climbs to 1,604
Similarly, the addition of two fatalities reported in the past 24 hours has taken the death toll due to COVID-19 in Ahmedabad to 1,604. The death toll has increased to 441 in Surat, whereas it remains 85 for Vadodara and 45 for Gandhinagar.
46,587 COVID-19 patients discharged so far
According to the health department, there are 14,601 active cases of the virus in Gujarat. Of this, 81 patients are critical and have been put on ventilator support. So far, 46,587 patients have been discharged in the state after being treated for the viral infection. Over 800 patients were discharged in the past 24 hours.
