Fourth consecutive day of recording over 900 cases in a day
Gujarat on Thursday recorded 919 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, the fourth time that the per day cases have crossed the 900 mark.
With this, the total number of cases in the state stands at 45,567 while the death toll is 2,091. The state recorded 10 new deaths due to the disease in the last 24 hours.
The state has recorded over 800 cases for four consecutive days while it has recorded over 700 cases five times so far.
The highest number of cases were recorded in Surat at 265 followed by Ahmedabad which had 181 cases. Vadodara and Gandhinagar recorded 74 and 27 cases respectively.
With this the total number of cases in Surat now stands at 8,907 while it is 23,780 for Ahmedabad.
Vadodara has 3,353 cases while Gandhinagar has 1,000 cases.
Of the total 10 deaths recorded in the state in the last 24 hours, five were in Surat and Ahmedabad each.
The total number of deaths in Surat stands at 234 for Surat, 1,532 for Ahmedabad, 54 for Vadodara and 37 for Gandhinagar.
The total number of active cases in the state is 11,302.
