Gujarat has reported 1,407 fresh cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours ending 5 pm on Sunday. The addition of the fresh cases has taken Gujarat’s total tally to 1,23,337.
3,322 COVID-19 related deaths in Gujarat
Seventeen deaths were reported in the state in the past 24 hours. The fresh fatalities have taken Gujarat’s COVID-19 related death toll to 3,322. While four deaths have been reported from Ahmedabad, five deaths have been reported from Surat. Three deaths have been reported each from Bhavnagar and Gandhinagar. The districts of Rajkot and Junagarh have reported one death each.
283 fresh cases in Surat, 183 in Ahmedabad
Of the 1,407 fresh cases reported on Sunday, 283 cases have been reported from Surat, 183 cases have been reported from Ahmedabad, 140 cases have been reported from Vadodara, and 44 cases have been reported from the state capital Gandhinagar.
This apart, Rajkot has reported 164 cases, Bhavnagar has reported 50 cases, Mehsana 53 cases, and Jamnagar 129 cases.
Meanwhile, Junagarh has reported 37 fresh cases of the virus, whereas the tribal district of Panchamahals has reported 29 fresh cases. Dahod has reported 13 cases, Amreli 24 cases and Kheda 14 cases.

Similarly, Bharuch has reported 22 cases, Valsad has reported five cases, Anand 10 cases, and Patan 22 cases.
With the addition of the fresh cases, the total COVID-19 case tally in Ahmedabad has increased to 34,942. The total tally has reached 26,232 in Surat, 10,740 in Vadodara, and 3,224 in Gandhinagar.
Ahmedabad’s COVID-19 death toll climbs to 1,783
Similarly, the addition of the four fatalities reported in the past 24 hours has taken the death toll due to COVID-19 in Ahmedabad to 1,783. The death toll has increased to 731 in Surat, whereas it remains 162 for Vadodara and 74 for Gandhinagar.
1.03 lakh COVID-19 patients discharged so far
According to the health department, there are 16,240 active cases of the virus in Gujarat. Of this, 92 patients are critical and have been put on ventilator support. So far, 1.03 lakh patients have been discharged in the state after being treated for the viral infection. In fact, 1,204 patients were discharged in the past 24 hours.
