Gujarat has reported 1,404 fresh cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours ending 5 pm on Monday. The addition of the fresh cases has taken Gujarat’s total tally to 1,34,623.
3,431 COVID-19 related deaths in Gujarat
Twelve deaths were reported in the state in the past 24 hours. The fresh fatalities have taken Gujarat’s COVID-19 related death toll to 3,431. While five deaths have been reported from Surat, three deaths have been reported from Ahmedabad. Two deaths have been reported from Rajkot. The districts of Bharuch and Vadodara have reported one death each.
302 fresh cases in Surat, 210 in Ahmedabad
Of the 1,404 fresh cases reported on Monday, 302 cases have been reported from Surat, 210 cases have been reported from Ahmedabad, 141 cases have been reported from Vadodara, and 49 cases have been reported from the state capital Gandhinagar.
This apart, Rajkot has reported 148 cases, Bhavnagar has reported 30 cases, Mehsana 43 cases, and Jamnagar 95 cases.
Meanwhile, Junagarh has reported 33 fresh cases of the virus, whereas the tribal district of Panchamahals has reported 22 fresh cases. Dahod has reported 13 cases, Amreli 27 cases and Kheda 11 cases.
Similarly, Bharuch has reported 29 cases, Valsad has reported two cases, Anand 13 cases, and Patan 26 cases.
With the addition of the fresh cases, the total COVID-19 case tally in Ahmedabad has increased to 36,456. The total tally has reached 28,560 in Surat, 11,824 in Vadodara, and 3,575 in Gandhinagar.
Ahmedabad’s COVID-19 death toll climbs to 1,807
Similarly, the addition of the three fatalities reported in the past 24 hours has taken the death toll due to COVID-19 in Ahmedabad to 1,807. The death toll has increased to 763 in Surat, whereas it remains 182 for Vadodara and 77 for Gandhinagar.
1.14 lakh COVID-19 patients discharged so far
According to the health department, there are 16,716 active cases of the virus in Gujarat. Of this, 91 patients are critical and have been put on ventilator support. So far, 1.14 lakh patients have been discharged in the state after being treated for the viral infection. In fact, 1,336 patients were discharged in the past 24 hours.
