The Crime Branch arrested two people involved in the case in which a car driver brandished a gun from the driver’s seat window while driving a car on the SG Highway.
The two have been identified as Sahil Mevada (Bharwad) and his friend Hardevsinh Vada.
A tip-off led cops to Sahil Mevada, who had illegally acquired the gun and was going around identifying himself as a cop to threaten people. He also had a number plate on his car which identified himself as a cop. Nevada was arrested from SG Highway.
Mevada, 21, is a resident of Bharwad Vaas in Vejalpur near Sarkhej. Cops also found a car worth Rs3 lakh and a gun worth Rs5000.
Mevada told cops he runs the Khetalaapa tea stall near Karnavati Club while his friend Hardevsinh Vada runs a coffee shop called Dhabis.
He said he bought the gun for Rs5000 from a customer at the coffee shop. The video of him brandishing the gun was made 1.5 months ago and was uploaded on the Instagram ID Rajdhiraj.

Mevada said the gun in the video is a replica of a lighter and that it was given to him by Hardevsih Vada who originally belongs to Dhanduka and lives at Prahladnagar.
Cops have booked the duo for keeping a replica of a weapon and trying to scare people and impersonating cops.
Nevada is the nephew of Congress leader Rambhia Bharwad. After the video went viral, Mevada claimed he appeared before the police but Satellite police insisted that they nabbed him and handed him over to the Crime Branch that was investigating the case.
