Wife accuses husband of harassment for delivering stillborn babies thrice

Aaquib Chhipa, Ahmedabad: A twenty-four-year-old woman from Nakhatrana in Kutch district has filed a complaint against her husband alleging that he began to harass her after she delivered three stillborn babies.

According to the FIR lodged with Mahila Police Station, Bhuj by complainant Manisha Harpaliya, her husband Babulal Harpaliya used to beat her without any reason. She alleged she was also harassed mentally.

The wife in the FIR said she believes her husband is having an affair with another woman and hence chose not to get her back from her maternal house. The woman had gone to her parent’s house on September 9 of this year.

On the day, he beat her in front of her in-laws and then took her to her maternal home. He told his father-in-law (Manisha’s father) that he will return in 4 or 5 days to take her back.

Since then he has not bothered to be in contact or come to get his wife. The wife said since the couple did not have a child, her husband blamed her and used to beat her.

Earlier too he had beaten her and she had gone to her maternal house to escape the violence. Later the family intervened and the couple reached a compromise but the violence continued. She said she had given birth thrice to stillborn babies and that was also the reason why he abused her.

The woman got married in 2015 and was residing with her husband and in-laws in Mithi village of Gandhidham.
