US Presidential Election: President Donald Trump announces ‘big press conference’

US President Donald Trump, who is waiting for the result of the bitterly contested 2020 Presidential Elections, in a tweet announced a big press conference.

Four days into the presidential election between Donald Trump and Joe Biden, the country is still awaiting definitive results even as the latter inches close to victory.

Biden was leading in most of the key states where still counting is going on, including Pennsylvania. A victory in the state will take Biden past the magic number of 270 votes in the Electoral College, which decides the presidency.

Joe Biden said he was going to win the US presidency as his lead grew over President Donald Trump. “The numbers tell us it’s a clear and convincing story: We’re going to win this race,” Biden said.

Trump, however, continued to call Biden’s claims as unfounded. He told Biden not to “wrongfully claim” the White House.

“Joe Biden should not wrongfully claim the office of the President. I could make that claim also. Legal proceedings are just now beginning!” Trump tweeted.

Biden gains lead over Donald Trump

On the fourth day of vote counting, Joe Biden had a 253 lead to Trump’s 214 in the Electoral College.
Pennsylvania’s 20 electoral votes will put Biden over the 270 he needs to win the presidency.

But Donald Trump continued to lambast his opponent with tweets decrying what he called “illegally received” votes in Pennsylvania and other “razor-thin” states.

Those tweets were flagged and masked by the messaging platform as containing potentially misleading content.

On Friday Biden appealed to Americans for unity, reiterating his belief that he would emerge the victor, but said the country needed to wait for the process to run its course.

“We must put the anger — and the demonization — behind us. It’s time for us to come together as a nation and heal,” Biden said in his home city of Wilmington, Delaware accompanied by his running mate, Senator Kamala Harris.

“My responsibility as president will be to represent the whole nation.”
