A tuition class that was being run in violation of COVID norms was raided and later sealed by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC). It should be noted that as per the government notification schools and tuition classes have been shut down and teaching has gone online.
But AMC got a tip-off that the tuition class in Chandlodia was insisting on the physical presence of students. When raided officials found that 15 students were in the class sans any mask or social distancing. The AMC has also booked a case against the tuition class owner.
The tuition class was in the Ranchhodnagar. The tuition class was operational from 9.30 am onwards.
The shutters of the tuition class were down giving the impression that it was closed but the classes continued behind the shutters. The owner of the class is Tejas Kadiya.
Not just tuition class, AMC sealed offices too
The AMC on Wednesday sealed three offices for violating its 50% staff-only norms. The AMC official carried out checking at 233 private offices and organisations to ensure that only 50% of staff were being called to work. . During checking it was found that three offices were not following the norms and hence they were sealed and issued a notice.
The three offices are of BV Sorathia Construction limited at Sola, Vora, Shah & Company at Ellisbridge, and Fed Bank at Maninagar. So far the AMC has carried out checks at 5,361 offices and has sealed 45 offices.
AMC has also shut down its civic centers in the city as COVID cases continued to surge but most of its services are available online. Earlier, the AMC had also shut down the Aadhar Card centers as COVID cases surged. Tea and paan shops have also been down and today it also announced the shutting of beauty parlour and hair cutting salons for an indefinite period.
