A family on its way home from a wedding died after the car in which they were traveling crashed into a truck near Ratanpur in Palanpur. Three others who were injured in the accident were rushed to the hospital.
According to available reports, a family from Nani Bhalyni village in Satlasan in Mehsana had gone for a wedding and were as on their way home in an Eco car. While the vehicle was near Ratanpur, the vehicle crashed into a truck. One person died on the spot in the accident while seven others were rushed to a hospital in Palanpur where three more succumbed to their injuries.
Police have registered a case of accidental death. The deceased and injured are yet to be identified.
Other major accidents
Five employees of a private company operating out of Jhagadia GIDC in Bharuch were killed on May 12 after a truck rammed into their company vehicle pushing it into a ravine. 10 others were injured and of which 7 were moved to the Public Health Centre while three were shifted to the Civil Hospital in Rajpipla.

The employees were traveling in an Eco car and were returning home when a speeding truck from the Movi Metranj route came towards them. To avoid hitting the same, the driver dived to the wrong side and got hit by another truck, and the car was pushed into a ravine by the impact.
On May 10, a deadly accident between an Innova car and a Duster near SG Highway left one person dead. The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital. As per reports, the Innova car had been coming from the Zydus side of SG Highway and was climbing the Gota bridge in Ahmedabad when the Duster crashed head-on into it at 5.30 pm.
As per reports, the driver of the Duster car lost control of the vehicle and hit a street light pole. So powerful was the impact of the hit that the pole was broken and the car then went on to hit the Innova car.
