Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday inaugurated the Aarogya Kutir at Kevadiya where over 380 different species of medicinal plants and trees totalling 5 lakh have been planted.

Narendra Modi arrived on Friday on a two-day trip to Gujarat where he is scheduled to throw open several projects including a seaplane service between Kevadiya and Ahmedabad. He will also be visiting the Statue of Unity.

Narendra Modi left from the airport for Gandhinagar to meet the family of former Gujarat chief minister Keshubhai Patel who passed away on Thursday following a cardiac arrest. He also met the family of superstar Naresh Kanodiya and Mahesh Kanodiya the actor-singer duo of Gujarati film industry who also passed away recently.

Both the brothers were associated with the BJP and were also MLAs and MPs from the party. The PM then left for Kevadiya in Narmada district to inaugurate various tourism projects near the Statue of Unity.

On Saturday he will inaugurate a seaplane service connecting Kevadiya with Ahmedabad.

As per the original plan, Modi was to land at Ahmedabad and head for Kevadiya but following the death of Keshubhai Patel, he decided to meet the family of the deceased leader and pay his respects. He is also expected to meet his mother who lives with his brother in Gandhinagar.
