Civic body polls: Pravin Togadia’s party to contest all seats in Bharuch Nagarpalika

Former VHP leader Pravin Togadia has announced the entry of his party in the civic body polls in Bharuch. This comes close on the heels of the AAP and AIMIM contesting the civic body polls in the district.

Pravin Togadia’s Hindustan Nirman Party has said that it will contest from all the 11 seats in Bharuch Nagarpalika and has released its manifesto for the upcoming civic body polls.

Leaders of the party in a press conference organised on Monday said they will put up candidates on all the 44 seats for the 11 wards of the Bharuch Nagarpalika.

In it, Pravin Togadia’s party has promised ward wise health care facilities and better education to ensure that the government schools are as good as private ones.

It has also promised several other infrastructure developments for Bharuch city.

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Sunday began his party’s first poll campaign in Gujarat at Bharuch where he urged Muslims, tribals and marginalised communities to unite against those who oppress them.

AIMIM has forged an alliance with Chhotubhai Vasava’s Bharatiya Tribal Party (BTP) for the local body elections in Gujarat scheduled later this month.

Owaisi, while addressing the gathering at Bharuch, said that AIMIM has entered Gujarat as an alternative to people, especially Muslims, Dalits, tribals and OBCs.

He also took a dig at the BJP and Congress saying they have a “mamu” and “bhanja” relationship. “Muslims, tribals and the communities who are denied rights should get united and become stronger to fight and protect our rights,” the Hyderabad MP said.

Apart from the Bharuch rally, Owaisi also addressed a massive rally at Ahmedabad Riverfront on Sunday evening
