Gujarat police’s special drive helps nab 53 fake doctors from state

A special drive by Gujarat police has resulted in 53 fake doctors being nabbed by the cops. The special drive was initiated after the surge in pandemic led to a rise in COVID cases and many turned doctors to take advantage of people’s desperation and trade in medicines and injections and sometimes play with the patient’s life.

The police had come to know that many people were turning doctors, particularly in small towns and cities to take advantage of the surge in COVID cases in such places where medical facilities and practitioners are limited.

Many of the fake doctors had been treating COVID patients without a valid degree and later when the condition deteriorated referred them to COVID hospitals in cities thus putting the patient’s life at risk. The state DGP Ashish Bhatia had begun a drive to nab such fake doctors.
