The speed breakers at Riverfront have been removed as part of the preparations to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Ahmedabad on October 31.
Narendra Modi who is on a two-day visit to the the state will fly from Kevadiya to Ahmedabad on a seaplane thus throwing open the service for citizens.
He will be landing at Riverfront and then going by road. As a result, the speed breakers have been removed.
Modi landed in Ahmedabad on Friday as part of his two-day visit to the state. His schedule was altered after the death of former Gujarat Chief Minister Keshubhai Patel on Thursday.
Modi met Keshubhai’s family in Gandhinagar to pay his condolences after landing in Ahmedabad on Friday. He also met the family of Gujarati film industry superstar Naresh Kanodiya and singer Mahesh Kanodiya who passed away recently.
Later he flew to Kevadia where he inaugurated the Aarogya Kutir, Ekta Mall and Children Nutrition Park.
He will also be inaugurating several other projects in Kevadia on Saturday.
On Saturday he will fly in a seaplane from Kevadia to Ahmedabad thus throwing open the service for people.
Several roads in Ahmedabad along the Riverfront and leading to the airport may be closed as part of the security measures for the Prime Minister.
The roads that will remain closed from 10 am to 2 pm on Saturday are the Riverfront Road on the west towards Vadaj crematorium up to Ambedkar Bridge. All drones are banned during the time.

- 8 am: Receiving the guard of honour at the Ekta Parade
- 8.45 am: Address a meeting
- 9 am: A virtual address with IAF
- Later he will inaugurate the seaplane service at lake 3 and fly to Ahmedabad
