A non-resident Gujarati who originally belongs to Anand was killed in New York in a robbery gone wrong. The NRG was identified as Kinshuk Patel who belongs to Bhadaran village in Anand. He was killed when two African Americans entered the store to rob it.
Cops have identified the two African American men based on CCTV footage. Patel who was an NRG lived in New York with his father, wife, and two sons.
The CCTV footage showed Patel was closing his shop to go home when two African Americans entered the store and asked for something. When Patel said that he was closing down, the youth got angry and hit him on the head with something. Patel fell unconscious and the two robbed him of his cash and mobile phone.
Patel had before closing his shop informed his family that he was on his way home. His family was worried after he failed to turn up for two hours and his mobile phone was switched off. His father informed the police who reached the store and found Patel in a pool of blood. He was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead by the authorities.
Earlier NRG murders
In December last year, an NRG youth from Vadu village in Kadi was shot dead in the US in a robbery gone wrong. Ashok Patel, who worked in a store in Pennsylvania in the US was shot by robbers who attempted to rob the store. Patel was in the process of closing it when the incident happened.
Patel had been living in Pennsylvania for last eight years. He had joined the store as a new employee before his murder. He had finished his shift and was in the process of downing the shutters when the robbers shot him.
Cops have identified the killers. An official statement said that Patel had done nothing to enrage the killers and that they had come to the store intending to loot it. They shot at Patel in the process.
