The Vibrant Gujarat Summit that was to be held in January or February of 2021 will not be held this year due to COVID-19. The state took the decision given the surge in COVID-19 cases post-Diwali.
Sources said given the second wave of the disease across the world, the government was also apprehensive about attendance at the summit. They said the state has decided to postpone the same.
The state clarified that however, it will continue to offer investment opportunities to those interested in investing in the state.
Saurashtra University postpones exams
Meanwhile, Saurashtra University has also postponed all its exams that were scheduled to be held soon. The varsity said it will announce the dates for the next exams later. Sources in the know said a decision on exams will only be taken post-December 15. The decision came after Saurashtra also saw a surge in COVID-19 cases post-Diwali.
