Godman Asaram Bapu’s son Narayan Sai has sought bail from Gujarat high court to meet and take care of his father who is undergoing treatment for COVID at a hospital in Jodhpur. The bail plea filed through his lawyer sought 20 days bail and alleged that his father was being given coercive allopathic treatment instead of ayurvedic one. The bail plea said he be granted bail as he wanted to help save the life of his father.

In January this year, the Gujarat High Court granted interim bail of three days (January 31 to February 3) to Narayan Sai as his 77-year-old mother was scheduled to undergo heart surgery on February 1.
The court, however, clarified that Narayan Sai was barred from visiting his ashram either in Ahmedabad or Surat. He was only allowed to visit the hospital where his mother was being treated. The court also asked Sai to submit a personal bond of Rs 10,000 with jail authorities. Earlier a furlough was granted to Narayan Sai.
The case against Narayan Sai
The father of Narayan Sai – Asaram Bapu is lodged in a prison in Jodhpur in Rajasthan after he was convicted of sexually assaulting a minor. Another case against him in Gujarat is under trial in a Gandhinagar Court.
Narayan Sai was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Surat sessions court in a rape case filed by two sisters in two different complaints against him and his father. The younger of two sisters had alleged that Narayan Sai had sexually assaulted her when she was living in his Surat Ashram between 2002 and 2005
