As Gujarat gears up to vaccinate more people to combat the surge in COVID, Bhuj in Kutch has begun Gujarat’s first experiment with a drive-through vaccination centre.
The drive-through vaccination centre has been set up at Bhuj’s RD Varsani ground. This comes as Kutch registers a surge in cases during the second wave of COVID. The drive-through vaccination centre is to expedite the vaccination drive in the district.
The drive-through will allow people to get vaccinated without having to step out of their vehicle. However, online registration is a must to access the drive-through vaccination facility. In all, 200 people are being vaccinated at the facility.
The facility has garnered good response and also reduces crowding. Earlier, Ahmedabad had begun a similar drive-through facility for COVID testing. This was done to reduce crowding outside testing domes.
Later, this was taken up in several other districts of the state.
Drive-through and other vaccination in Gujarat
