Justice Vineet Kothari to be sworn in as a judge of Gujarat High Court on January 4

Justice Vineet Kothari of the Madras High Court will be sworn in as a judge of the Gujarat High Court on Monday.

The circular issued by Chief Justice of Gujarat High Court said that due to COVID-19 it has been decided that Justice Vineet Kothari will be sworn in as the Judge of Gujarat High Court in the presence of the standing committee and Chief Minister – Vijay Rupani.

Also, the deputy chief minister and law minister will remain present in the ceremony. The oath ceremony will be telecasted live on Youtube.

Justice Vineet Kothari got his farewell on January 2, a day after he was appointed as acting Chief Justice of Madras High Court. Justice Sanjib Banerjee will be sworn in as chief justice of Madras High Court.

Justice Vineet Kothari was appointed acting chief justice of Madras High Court following the retirement of the previous Chief Justice – Armeshwar Sahi had retired.

The president of India after the consultation with the Chief Justice of India transferred Justice Vineet Kothari as a judge of the Gujarat High Court. Justice Vineet Kothari was appointed as a judge in Rajasthan High Court in 2005.

After 11 years as a judge with the Rajasthan High Court, he was transferred to Karnataka High Court in 2016. Then after he was appointed as Judge with Madras High Court.
