Junagadh DySP sent to 3 years in prison by Devgadh Baria local court

A local court has sentenced Junagadh DySP and the then Police Sub Inspector of Devgadh Baria JB Gadhvi to three years imprisonment in connection with a 2006 case in which the cop was accused of hitting a minor in Bena village in the district.

At the time of the incident, Gadhvi was the PSI of a police station in Devgadh Baria. At present, he is the DySP in Junagadh’s Keshod.

As per the complaint on December 13, 2006, Gadhvi had called a minor youth, Sarjankumar Pasayani, from Bena village in Devgadh Baria taluka to the police station. He then illegally detained the minor and beat him severely and later handed him over to his parents.

Later Sarjankuma through his lawyer filed a case against Gadhvi in the Devgadh Baria local court. The court after taking into consideration the arguments of the accused and the victim and based on proof submitted pronounced the DySP as guilty and sentenced him to three years in prison.
