The Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN) will organise the 31st meeting of the Indian Association for General Relativity and Gravitation (IAGRG) on December 19 and 20 this year.
The conference though organised by IITGN will be held online given the COVID pandemic,
The Indian Association for General Relativity and Gravitation (IAGRG) was first constituted in 1969 and works towards fostering general relativity related activities in the country.
IAGRG national meetings are held every two years, at various locations in the country and are considered a significant and prestigious national conference in the field of gravitational physics, cosmology, and astrophysics.
The conference at IITGN will see national and international scholars and subject experts and will have parallel sessions and poster presentations on several topics.
The plenary seminars of the IAGRG meeting will be delivered by the international experts of the respective fields.
As part of the 50th anniversary of the famous derivation of black hole quasinormal modes by Prof C V Vishveshwara, the broad theme of the 31st IAGRG Meeting is ‘Quasinormal Modes from Black Holes’.
The conference will also have a special session on the life and work of Prof CV Vishveshwara.
