Gujarat COVID-19 figures on Wednesday touched 1,70,053 as the state recorded 980 new cases. The cases have dipped below the 1,300 level after more than a month and below 1,200 after several months.
The state has recorded over 1,300 cases for 26 days now while it has recorded over 1,400 cases for nine days so far.
The state has carried out 51,912tests in the last 24 hours. 1,107 patients were cured of COVID-19 in the state in the last 24 hours taking the recovery rate to 89.97%.
The state has in all recorded 13,354 active cases of which 63 are on ventilator support. So far 1,52,995 patients have recovered from the disease in the state.
The state also saw six fatalities due to the disease. Of these, three were in Ahmedabad, two in Surat and one in Rajkot. Of the total deaths in Surat and Ahmedabad, three were in AMC and one in SMC.
With this, the Gujarat COVID-19 fatalities stand at 3,704.
The addition of three fatalities reported in the past 24 hours has taken the death toll due to COVID-19 in Ahmedabad to 1,899. The death toll has increased to 844 in Surat, whereas it remains 207 for Vadodara and 92 for Gandhinagar.
Surat city saw 163 new cases being recorded while 64 were reported from the district. Similarly, the Ahmedabad Corporation area had 161 new cases while it was 25 in the district.
Vadodara and Gandhinagar corporations respectively recorded 74 and 20 cases. Interestingly, the city limits of Gandhinagar had fewer cases than the district.

The state has so far crossed over 1,200 cases per day 11 times. Gujarat has recorded over 1,100 cases 28 times, over 1,000 cases 21 times, over 900 cases 13 times and over 800 cases for four consecutive days. It has recorded more than 700 cases in a day five times so far.
51,912 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours as part of Gujarat COVID-19 with the number of tests per million per day now standing at 798.65. The state has tested over 58 lakh people for COVID-19 since the pandemic began.
