Gujarat COVID-19 Update: 1035 new cases

Gujarat COVID-19 figures on Friday touched 1,78,683 as the state recorded 1,035 new cases. This the first time after almost a fortnight that cases have crossed the 1000 level.

The state has recorded over 1,300 cases for 26 days now while it has recorded over 1,400 cases for nine days so far. 

The state has carried out 51,534 tests in the last 24 hours. 1,321 patients were cured of COVID-19 in the state in the last 24 hours taking the recovery rate to 91.16%. 

The state has in all recorded 12,036 active cases of which 69 are on ventilator support. So far 1,62,846 patients have recovered from the disease in the state.

The state also saw four fatalities due to the disease. Of these, two are in Ahmedabad and one each in Bharuch and Surat.

Of the total deaths in Surat and Ahmedabad, two were in AMC and one in SMC limits. With this, the Gujarat COVID-19 fatalities stand at 3,751.

The addition of two fatalities reported in the past 24 hours has taken the death toll due to COVID-19 in Ahmedabad to 1,917. The death toll has increased to 860 in Surat, whereas it remains 209 for Vadodara and 94 for Gandhinagar.

Surat city saw 152 new cases being recorded while 58 were reported from the district. Similarly, the Ahmedabad Corporation area had 160 new cases while it was 15 in the district.

Vadodara and Gandhinagar corporations respectively recorded 76 and 20 cases. Interestingly, the city limits of Gandhinagar had fewer cases than the district.

Gujarat COVID-19 other interesting statistics  

The state has so far crossed over 1,200 cases per day 11 times. Gujarat has recorded over 1,100 cases 28 times, over 1,000 cases 22 times, over 900 cases 19 times and over 800 cases for six days. It has recorded more than 700 cases in a day five times so far.

51,534 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours as part of Gujarat COVID-19 with the number of tests per million per day now standing at 792.83. The state has tested over 63 lakh people for COVID-19 since the pandemic began.
