Gujarat COVID-19 figures on Saturday touched 1,72,944 as the state recorded 935 new cases. The cases have dipped below the 1,300 level after more than a month and below 1,200 after several months.
The state has recorded over 1,300 cases for 26 days now while it has recorded over 1,400 cases for nine days so far. The state has carried out 51,574 tests in the last 24 hours. 1,014 patients were cured of COVID-19 in the state in the last 24 hours taking the recovery rate to 90.27%.
The state has in all recorded 13,106 active cases of which 59 are on ventilator support. So far 1,56,119 patients have recovered from the disease in the state.
The state also saw five fatalities due to the disease. Of these, two are in Ahmedabad and one each in Rajkot, Surat and Patan.
Of the total deaths in Surat and Ahmedabad, two were in AMC and one in SMC limits. With this, the Gujarat COVID-19 fatalities stand at 3,719.
The addition of two fatalities reported in the past 24 hours has taken the death toll due to COVID-19 in Ahmedabad to 1,904. The death toll has increased to 849 in Surat, whereas it remains 207 for Vadodara and 93 for Gandhinagar.
Surat city saw 168 new cases being recorded while 59 were reported from the district. Similarly, the Ahmedabad Corporation area had 166 new cases while it was 12 in the district.
Vadodara and Gandhinagar corporations respectively recorded 82 and 25 cases. Interestingly, the city limits of Gandhinagar had fewer cases than the district.
Gujarat COVID-19 other interesting statistics
The state has so far crossed over 1,200 cases per day 11 times. Gujarat has recorded over 1,100 cases 28 times, over 1,000 cases 21 times, over 900 cases 16 times and over 800 cases for four consecutive days. It has recorded more than 700 cases in a day five times so far.
51,574 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours as part of Gujarat COVID-19 with the number of tests per million per day now standing at 793.45. The state has tested over 60 lakh people for COVID-19 since the pandemic began.
