Gujarat COVID-19 figures on Friday touched 1,72,009 as the state recorded 969 new cases. The cases have dipped below the 1,300 level after more than a month and below 1,200 after several months.
The state has recorded over 1,300 cases for 26 days now while it has recorded over 1,400 cases for nine days so far.
The state has carried out 51,657 tests in the last 24 hours. 1,027 patients were cured of COVID-19 in the state in the last 24 hours taking the recovery rate to 90.17%.
The state has in all recorded 13,190 active cases of which 62 are on ventilator support. So far 1,55,105 patients have recovered from the disease in the state.
The state also saw six fatalities due to the disease. Of these, two are in Surat and Ahmedabad and one in Rajkot and Patan each.
Of the total deaths in Surat and Ahmedabad, two each were in AMC and SMC limits. With this, the Gujarat COVID-19 fatalities stand at 3,714.
The addition of two fatalities reported in the past 24 hours has taken the death toll due to COVID-19 in Ahmedabad to 1,902. The death toll has increased to 848 in Surat, whereas it remains 207 for Vadodara and 93 for Gandhinagar.
Surat city saw 165 new cases being recorded while 53 were reported from the district. Similarly, the Ahmedabad Corporation area had 162 new cases while it was 19 in the district.
Vadodara and Gandhinagar corporations respectively recorded 77 and 17 cases. Interestingly, the city limits of Gandhinagar had fewer cases than the district.

The state has so far crossed over 1,200 cases per day 11 times. Gujarat has recorded over 1,100 cases 28 times, over 1,000 cases 21 times, over 900 cases 15 times and over 800 cases for four consecutive days. It has recorded more than 700 cases in a day five times so far.
51,657 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours as part of Gujarat COVID-19 with the number of tests per million per day now standing at 794.72. The state has tested over 60 lakh people for COVID-19 since the pandemic began.
