Gujarat COVID-19 figures on Monday touched 1,98,899 as the state recorded 1,487 new cases. On Friday the first time in over a month cases had once again crossed the 1400 mark.
The state has recorded over 1,300 cases for 27 days now while it has recorded over 1,400 cases for 12 days so far.
The state has carried out 69,521 tests in the last 24 hours. 1,234 patients were cured of COVID-19 in the state in the last 24 hours taking the recovery rate to 91.09%.
The state has in all recorded 13,836 active cases of which 89 are on ventilator support. So far 1,81,187 patients have recovered from the disease in the state.
The state also saw 17 fatalities due to the disease. Of these, 13 are in Ahmedabad and one in Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot, and Morbi each.
Of the total deaths in Ahmedabad, all were in AMC limits and two in SMC. With this, the Gujarat COVID-19 fatalities stand at 3,876.
The addition of five fatalities reported in the past 24 hours has taken the death toll due to COVID-19 in Ahmedabad to 1,983. The death toll has increased to 101 in Surat, whereas it remains 215 for Vadodara and 99 for Gandhinagar.
Surat city saw 217 new cases being recorded while 53 were reported from the district. Similarly, the Ahmedabad Corporation area had 319 new cases while it was 25 in the district. This is the third time in over two months that cases in Ahmedabad city have surged past 300.
Vadodara and Gandhinagar corporations respectively recorded 132 and 44 cases. Interestingly, the city limits of Gandhinagar had fewer cases than the district. This is the highest Vadodara has recorded so far.
Gujarat COVID-19 other interesting statistics
The state has so far crossed over 1,200 cases per day 12 times. Gujarat has recorded over 1,100 cases 32 times, over 1,000 cases 26 times, over 900 cases 21 times, and over 800 cases for six days. It has recorded more than 700 cases in a day five times so far.
69,521 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours as part of Gujarat COVID-19 with the number of tests per million per day now standing at 1069.55. The state has tested over 73 lakh people for COVID-19 since the pandemic began.
