Gujarat COVID-19 Update: Cases cross 1.9 lakh

Gujarat COVID-19 figures on Tuesday touched 1,90,361 as the state recorded 1,125 new cases. The state has recorded over 1,300 cases for 26 days now while it has recorded over 1,400 cases for nine days so far. 

The state has carried out 47,328 tests in the last 24 hours. 1,116 patients were cured of COVID-19 in the state in the last 24 hours taking the recovery rate to 91.45%. 

The state has in all recorded 12,458 active cases of which 74 are on ventilator support. So far 1,74,088 patients have recovered from the disease in the state.

The state also saw seven fatalities due to the disease. Of these, four are in Ahmedabad and three in Surat. Of the total deaths in Ahmedabad, three were in AMC limits and two in SMC.

With this, the Gujarat COVID-19 fatalities stand at 3,815.

 The addition of four fatalities reported in the past 24 hours has taken the death toll due to COVID-19 in Ahmedabad to 1,946. The death toll has increased to 90 in Surat, whereas it remains 213 for Vadodara and 97 for Gandhinagar.

Surat city saw 158 new cases being recorded while 22 were reported from the district. Similarly, the Ahmedabad Corporation area had 218 new cases while it was 16 in the district.

Vadodara and Gandhinagar corporations respectively recorded 96 and 36 cases. Interestingly, the city limits of Gandhinagar had fewer cases than the district.

Gujarat COVID-19 other interesting statistics  

The state has so far crossed over 1,200 cases per day 11 times. Gujarat has recorded over 1,100 cases 32 times, over 1,000 cases 26 times, over 900 cases 21 times, and over 800 cases for six days. It has recorded more than 700 cases in a day five times so far.

47,328 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours as part of Gujarat COVID-19 with the number of tests per million per day now standing at 728.12. The state has tested over 69 lakh people for COVID-19 since the pandemic began.
