Gujarat COVID-19 Update: 1514 new cases


Gujarat COVID-19 figures on Saturday touched 2,17,333 as the state recorded 1,514 new cases. Cases have gone past the 1500 mark 11 times while per day cases have crossed 1600 once so far.

The state has recorded over 1,300 cases for 27 days now while it has recorded over 1,400 cases for 13 days so far. 

The state has carried out 69,668 tests in the last 24 hours. 1,535 patients were cured of COVID-19 in the state in the last 24 hours taking the recovery rate to 91.35%. 

The state has in all recorded 14,742 active cases of which 90 are on ventilator support. So far 1,98,527 patients have recovered from the disease in the state.

The state also saw 15 fatalities due to the disease. Of these, 9 are in Ahmedabad and three in Rajkot, and two in Surat. Aravali also recorded one case.

Of the total deaths in Ahmedabad, 9 were in AMC limits and two in SMC limits. With this, the Gujarat COVID-19 fatalities stand at 4,064.

The addition of 9 cases reported in the past 24 hours has taken the death toll due to COVID-19 in Ahmedabad to 2,111. The death toll has increased to 914 in Surat, whereas it remains 222 for Vadodara and 103 for Gandhinagar.

Surat city saw 202 new cases being recorded while 39 were reported from the district. Similarly, the Ahmedabad Corporation area had 296 new cases while it was 36 in the district.

Vadodara and Gandhinagar corporations respectively recorded 137 and 28 cases. Interestingly, the city limits of Gandhinagar had fewer cases than the district. 

Gujarat COVID-19 other interesting statistics  

The state has so far crossed over 1,200 cases per day 12 times. Gujarat has recorded over 1,100 cases 32 times, over 1,000 cases 26 times, over 900 cases 21 times, and over 800 cases for six days. It has recorded more than 700 cases in a day five times so far.69,668 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours as part of Gujarat COVID-19 with the number of tests per million per day now standing at 1071.82. The state has tested over 81 lakh people for COVID-19 since the pandemic began.
